Gundry Roode

Either the son of Thomas Roode, late of Glaston in the county of Somerset, yeoman deceased, apprenticed to Alexander Roode his brother, 30^th June 1682, or the son of  Gundry Roode, late of Glassingbury in the county of Somerset, grocer, deceased, apprenticed to Alexander Roode, 18 December 1696, believed to be his cousin. The freedom of neither Gundry is recorded. First mark entered as a largeworker, 1 March 1710; A, 9 September 1737, address, Staining Lane. Second sterling mark: 21 May 1721. Address, Queen Street in ye Mint. Third mark 9 September 1737. Address over against ye Kings Road in Golden Lane. The register of St Michael le Quern contain entries for Elizabeth, daughter of Mr Gundry Rude by Elizabeth his wife, born 27 October, baptized 24 November 1713; Oliver and Jane twins, born 6 November 1714, Jane buried five days later and Oliver three weeks after birth; Gundry born 6 January 1715 and buried 3 March following.
